The Potential of Smart Water Metering in Spain

In a Spain that is resorting to increasingly drastic measures to reduce water losses, combat droughts and innovate its infrastructure, we presented the potential of Smart Water Metering and how, with our know-how, we achieve the goal of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of metering processes.

At the Marriott Hotel in Madrid, on the occasion of the Smart Water Summit, our Smart Network Area Product Manager, Elena Bricca, explained how smart meters are the fundamental key to accessing actual daily readings with hourly detail, to the retrieval of countless other data that can support the detection of leaks in the water network, which often result in shortages of resources and profits:

Never before has technology been at the service of environmental and economic sustainability. The digital journey to change the water world has just begun. Business model goals can be achieved by transforming processes that, in turn, are enabled by technology. Therefore, the role of digitisation is key to unlocking improvements.

Subsequently, the focus shifted to how digitisation is the enabling factor to initiate the transformation of the business model, to face external challenges and unlock new business value. In this sense, Elena Bricca concluded her speech by presenting TAMM (Terranova Advanced Metering Mangement), our platform for smart metering, which comes at the best time to exploit its full potential, reducing operating costs, enhancing metering processes and informing the digital network system.
