We support your Sustainability

Did you know that our software contributes to effective economic, environmental and social Sustainability?

With our solutions, you can promote renewal initiatives aimed at minimising environmental impact and bringing your company closer to the community, thanks to solutions such as the end-user portal or Smart City projects. For over 20 years, we have been providing tools that increase operational efficiency and environmental awareness, including on the part of the end user, as well as reducing the impact on the environment through efficient management of activities in the operations and technical areas.

Our Sustainability

We believe in the professional development of our team. We invest in training and encourage the pursuit of an optimal work-life balance.

We monitor established KPIs to ensure we meet our commitments to minimising our impact on the environment. We collaborate with the charity sector and organisations that employ people with special needs. In doing so, we build lasting relationships and promote their activities outside the workplace.

You will find all this and much more in our Sustainability Report!

Sustainability Report 2024

Convinced that companies should be agents of positive change in the world, we have taken the decision to amend our bylaws and become a Benefit Corporation this year, emphasising our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, social wellbeing and a safe and inclusive work environment.

Our commitment towards gender equality

ENI awards Terranova as Inclusive Leader

Our client ENI has awarded us the ‘Inclusive Leader’ Digital Badge for our inclusivity initiatives aimed specifically at promoting gender equality in the workplace.

ENI's recognition motivates us to continue our initiatives with even greater enthusiasm, confident that the commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN in its 2030 Agenda can only be achieved through great teamwork and that customers and suppliers can also collaborate towards these goals.

THE ANT FOUNDATION OFFERS PROFESSIONAL AND HUMAN SUPPORT TO FAMILIES FACING CANCER

Our support for the Children in ANT project

In February 2024, thanks to our relationship with the Tuscany branch, ANT in Tuscany, we learned about the Bimbi in ANT (Children in Ant) project, which immediately impressed us because of its focus on helping children.

The Bimbi in ANT project is a care and education programme aimed specifically at children and adolescents, providing home care for young patients and support for their families, psychological support for children in contact with a loved one suffering from cancer, and education for the younger generation on the subject of separation and loss.

In October 2024, at its annual fundraising dinner, ANT awarded us the ANT Solidarity Medal.

COMMITMENT TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT

No more disposable cups during coffee breaks: introducing Terranova Mugs and Terranova Glasses

At the beginning of 2024, we set up our coffee machines to dispense drinks without disposable paper cups, and with Bella Storia we created a personalised ceramic cup for all our employees.

A year consists of approximately 240 actual working days, of which, in our case, 144 are spent in the office (3 out of 5). There are more than 350 of us at Terranova, and we can assume that on average each person consumes 1.5 coffees per day. Considering these numbers, more than 75,000 paper cups are used per year, which are not recyclable in cities that do not have adequate recycling facilities. So our answer is yes, our gesture has a big impact!

In June 2025, at the Terranova Summer Party organised for our 25th anniversary, we gave away a reusable cup instead of disposable cups, designed to make the most of the open bar and then be used in the office, where column dispensers installed in all our offices dispense water without bottles.

Full Electric Car Project and Home-Work Commuting Programme

In 2024, we launched an initiative aimed at increasing the well-being of our people and reducing our impact on the environment. This initiative involves the free loan of five fully electric cars from the company's fleet during weekends. Thanks to this initiative, our people have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with fully electric vehicles and benefit from their use for personal purposes and electric charging, which is paid for by Terranova.

As part of the PSCL (home-work travel plan) programme, at the end of 2024 we activated the Jojob Real Time Carpooling platform at all our offices. This platform was designed by a Benefit & BCorp company to meet the needs of extra-urban and suburban commuters who travel daily between home to work every day, with the aim of reducing environmental impact and promoting a culture of sustainable mobility through carpooling. Terranova monitors indicators relating to the number of carpooling trips, mileage data and CO2 savings.

Circular economy and zero waste in the design of new offices

When setting up our new offices in Matera, we adopted a circular economy and zero waste approach, prioritising the transfer of materials and equipment from our other offices that we were able to reuse following renovations.

This decision reflects our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our activities, and also demonstrates our desire to promote a more sustainable and responsible economy. The concept of circular economy emphasises the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling resources, thereby helping to preserve natural resources and reduce waste, while maintaining the safety standards we apply in all our business premises.

LOOKING AFTER OUR TEAM

A way to support each other

Hours Solidarity bank

In 2023, we launched the Hours Solidarity Bank, enabling colleagues to donate hours of leave and holiday time to other colleagues who find themselves in difficult personal circumstances, such as needing to care for family members who require constant support.

This tool, which aims to encourage solidarity and mutual support within our community, protects the privacy of beneficiaries and donations remain anonymous.

Our book exchange community: Terranova Book Club

The Terranova Book Club was created to share the love of reading that many of us have in common. Thanks to our internal community communication tools, we exchange opinions and book recommendations. The books are made available to the company in the libraries of all our offices, and we encourage people to move books between offices using business travel and work trips as opportunities to take recommended reads to colleagues all across the country. The books are purchased with the involvement of the community, which can express interest in particular genres or specific books. These include books dealing with topics such as mental and physical well-being, ecology, inclusion & diversity, and women in STEM.

Volunteering stories: the #NonSolo ("Not Only") social media campaign

This campaign, launched in early 2023, tells stories of the charity work that our people carry out outside working hours. The project was designed to share positive experiences with the aim of spreading information about the activities that can be carried out in various cities, raising awareness and visibility for each charity involved.

Protecting the mental and physical well-being of the team by promoting healthy eating

Following our long-standing commitment to nutritional education and the well-being of our people, we have decided to summarise the most important messages from our training programme and the guidelines of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation and display them on the walls of our kitchens, and in some of the books of the Terranova Book Club. In doing so we seek to emphasise the mental and physical benefits of a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

A CHANCE TO SUPPORT THE TUSCANY FOOD BANK

Donation of surplus goods of our 25th anniversary party

On 20 June 2025, we gathered at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence to celebrate the successes and challenges of our first 25 years in business! For this special occasion, we organised an event that was also open to partners, friends and relatives, with around 900 people in attendance.

We involved Banco Alimentare, to whom we donated the surplus food from the event, including:

  • 245 pizzas
  • 792 hot dog buns
  • 144 hamburger buns
We would like to thank Terranova once again for choosing Banco Alimentare as the recipient of its surplus donations: you have added a heart-warming touch of solidarity to your event.

LIFC TOSCANA PROVIDES MORAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AFFECTED BY CYSTIC FIBROSIS

Our support for LIFC Toscana

In memory of Gianluca Masi, who died prematurely from cystic fibrosis, we have established a long-term partnership with the Italian Cystic Fibrosis League of Tuscany, an association that helps and manages cystic fibrosis patients in Tuscany. Cystic fibrosis is one of the most common rare genetic diseases.

Over the past year, Terranova has funded ENRICH, a European research project that aims to study the effects of a new drug therapy to slow the disease through the purchase of new state-of-the-art equipment.

In November 2024, on the occasion of the 3x7 Relay, which took place in Florence on 23 November, we chose to support LIFC Toscana once again, taking to the track in support of this association in which we strongly believe, arriving in Florence from our offices throughout Italy.
