In May, our CEO Alessandro Vistoli had the pleasure of telling the story of Terranova as part of SMEC Talks 2025, organised by DEM - Department of Economics and Management, University of Parma, for the second cycle dedicated to Big Data and Information Systems.
The SMEC Talks, organised by the Master's Degree in Strategy, Management and Control at the University of Pisa, saw four cycles of thematic seminars in this second edition, with the participation of high-profile speakers from leading companies in their sectors. The aim of their participation was to share concrete experiences and strategic visions on the challenges and opportunities of the business world.
The Terranova case: Planning
It was in this context that our CEO Alessandro Vistoli was asked to present the story of Terranova, which this year celebrates 25 years of activity and has inevitably seen important moments of growth, also determined by the introduction of the Planning & Control system and the related delegation system.
Vistoli's lecture also touched on the theme of innovation in the utility sector and research and development on sector megatrends, thanks in part to collaborations with universities and research institutes such as Open Italy.
Young people have a great ability to bring energy and positivity to a company, and we can see this every time we hire one: group dynamics improve and new ideas emerge.
This is why we have been collaborating for years in various areas of research aimed at innovation with several Italian and foreign universities, including the University of Pisa itself.
On this occasion, I had the opportunity to engage in a different kind of discussion than usual, and I found people eager to learn and driven by a valuable curiosity. I was delighted to accept the invitation from Professors Federica De Santis and Zeila Occhipinti, whom I would like to thank personally.
