Terranova announces partnership with Simcom

We are delighted to share we have started a partnership with Simcom, global leading supplier of M2M modules, in order to provide a Device Language Message Specification (DLMS) protocol stack that is optimised for Simcom SIM7022 module, NBIoT2 (and NBIoT1) Global, compliant to rel.14 and rel.13 of 3GPP.

The DLMS protocol has become the worldwide standard of choice among smart meter designers for interoperability among metering systems, including most energy types (electricity, gas, heat and water), multiple applications (residential, transmission and distribution), and numerous communication media (RS232, RS485, PSTN, GSM, GPRS, IPv4, PPP and PLC); as well as secure data access, via AES 128 encryption.

We offer the Smart Meter Libraries Suite to Meters and Concentrators manufacturers for the implementation of the most common and widely used protocols: DLMS/COSEM, MBUS, SML, CTR, DNP3 and MODBUS.

The SIM7022 is Multi-Band NB-IoT module solution in a very small SMT type .With Power Save Mode (PSM) and Extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX), SIM7022 can extend battery life to 15+ years. It has strong extension capability with rich interfaces including UART, GPIO etc. The module provides much flexibility and ease of integration for customer's application. The package of SIM7022 is compatible with SIM7080G (CATM/NB/GNSS) and Y7080E (NB/GNSS).

Thanks to these turnkey solutions, the whole development process has been shortened significantly, leading to a much-reduced time-to-market and to a more robust and cost-effective outcome. Prompt adaption to standards and customization to regional requirements is continuously addressed, thanks to a dedicated design team, specialised in the development of communication protocols.

This successful collaboration marks a big step forward towards a complete-system-solution-offering, a partnership which is planned to be extended in the future towards other types of protocols and MCUs.
