The AGbD - Associazione Sindrome di Down Onlus(Down Syndrome Association) was founded in 1984 with the aim of offering practical support for the rehabilitation and education of children with Down syndrome. Thanks to the unity and determination of parents, the first rehabilitation centre was established, which immediately became a point of reference for the city of Verona. Over the years, the projects and activities have increased, and the rehabilitation centre now supports more than 150 families.
Since May 2025, Terranova has been supporting this organisation, and in particular the Ponte Project: designed to promote independent and collaborative living, this project accompanies participants towards self-managed residential living.
The Ponte Project(which translates to 'Bridge Project'), dedicated to adults, stems from a concrete need: to accompany young adults with intellectual disabilities towards an independent and integrated life in the community, while also supporting their families.
Through assisted cohabitation experiences, psycho-educational support and personalised programmes, the project offers concrete tools for building meaningful relationships, developing management skills and strengthening self-confidence.
Supporting this project means investing in the well-being of our community and actively contributing to building a future in which everyone can live as adults in a dignified, free and conscious manner.
One of our commitments as a Benefit Society is the promotion, development or sponsorship of social activities, functional to support and assist people affected by psycho-physical disadvantage, especially those initiatives aimed at reducing the impact of disadvantages, the promotion and enhancement of social volunteer activities, with the aim of spreading values of sharing, positivity and inclusion.
